Thrust ball & roller brgs

Single & double direction thrust ball bearings

Thrust ball bearing elements are separable so that mounting is simple to achieve. Single direction thrust ball bearings consist of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a ball & cage thrust assembly. Double direction thrust ball bearings consist of the same elements but have two housing washers and two ball & cage thrust assemblies.

Single direction thrust ball bearings can accommodate axial loads in one direction, hence double direction can accommodate axial loads acting in both directions, neither must be subjected to any kind of radial load.

Both single and double direction thrust ball bearings are available with either a flat seating surface on the housing washers or with a sphered seating surface. Bearings with sphered housing washers can be used together with sphered seating washers to allow for misalignment between the housing and shaft.

Cylindrical roller thrust bearings

Cylindrical roller thrust bearings are suitable for situations that have to support heavy axial loads and can only accommodate axial loads acting in one direction.

Spherical roller thrust bearings

Spherical roller thrust bearings can accommodate radial loads in addition to simultaneously acting axial loads. Another important characteristic of spherical roller thrust bearings is there self-aligning capability, allowing for shaft deflection and misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing. Unlike other thrust bearings, spherical roller thrust bearings form non-separable units.
