O rings are the simplest of seals and are situated within grooves either inside housings or on shafts. Extensively used in various applications and available in a range of size standards such as British standard, German standard and Japanese standard as well as metric sizes.

As well as the varying size standards they are also available in a range of materials such as Nitrile (the most common), Viton (a greater temperature range than nitrile), Polyurethane, Silicone (high temperatures), FDA Silicone (food grade), PTFE and Flurosilicone along with varying shore hardnesses.

Shore Hardness

Shore hardness refers to how soft or hard the o ring material is and can range from 40 (soft) to 95 (hard) Shore depending on the pressures exerted on the o ring.
